Its production is a slow, meticulous process that takes many hours of focused handwork. It is not thrown on a potter's wheel, but built entirely by hand: Hand-Building: The basic shape of the vase is built up piece by piece purely by hand. This technique gives the vase its unmistakable, vibrant character that machine manufacturing could never replicate. Carving Texture: Once the clay is leather-hard (partially dried), the detailed work begins. Over hours, I hand-carve the deep groove structure into the surface. Every cut is intentionally placed. Slow Drying: To prevent cracks—especially with this elaborate construction method—the vase must dry very gently over an extended period before its first firing. Layered Glazing: To achieve the special depth effect, I apply the glaze in multiple distinct layers. 🌟 The Result: A Vibrant, Dynamic Glaze The effort pays off: the vase captivates with an extraordinary, metallic-like surface. The special element is that the final result is never 100% predictable. Depending on the firing, the glaze develops a unique character that shifts between deep bronze and shimmering silver tones.
