Welcome to a world where clay loses its rigid nature and begins to flow. The Dancing Lines Bowl is far more than an ordinary fruit bowl—it is functional art brought to life. Each of these artwork pieces is created through an entirely intuitive process. Line by line, I shape and join them by hand until a vibrant, organic form emerges. In doing so, I intentionally push the absolute boundaries of the material: How much freedom can the clay handle? Where does the structure break, and where does magic happen? A Delicate Creation Process This process is so challenging and sensitive that not every bowl survives the journey—I’ve learned a lot along the way and continue to embrace the challenge every time. The bowls that successfully master this rigorous path and conquer the fire possess a surprising, incredible stability. I am often asked whether these delicate-looking objects can actually be used as everyday bowls. To clear up any doubts, we captured in the video just how robust and sturdy they truly are. Of course, that doesn’t mean they should double as a basketball hoop—but to give you an idea of their real load capacity: the yellow bowl in the photos easily holds 2 kg of apples and 2 mangoes, with plenty of room and strength to spare. Craftsmanship, Quality & Materials The Firing: Each piece undergoes a process lasting several weeks—from building and slow, careful drying to double firing (bisque and high-temperature glaze firing). Clay Bodies & Glazes: Since I craft these in different finishes, I work with various high-quality clay bodies and use exclusively lead-free glazes. Some pieces feature flowing glazes, while others are intentionally left unglazed to highlight the pure, honest nature of the raw clay. Completely Waterproof: Working exclusively with premium stoneware clay ensures these bowls are 100% waterproof and durable for daily use—even on unglazed surfaces. Dimensions: Diameter approx. 29 cm, Height approx. 13 cm (As each piece is made entirely by hand, slight, character-rich variations may occur). Care Instructions: Hand washing recommended to preserve the fine structure and surface finish for generations to come.
